Wealth Academy Options
|
![]() Options are legally binding contracts between two people to buy and sell 100 shares of a particular stock at a fixed price in the future. Option buyers have rights to buy or sell the shares - they are not ever required to do so. Option contracts cost a fraction of the stock price yet allow investors to control 100 shares of stock. |
Advantages of Options Trading

Cost-efficiency - Option buyers control 100 shares of stock for pennies on the dollar.
Cash-efficiency - Option investors can take partial profits by "rolling" the position but without reducing the number of shares they control.
Automatic Stops - The maximum loss for an option buyer is the price paid for the option. Because options cost a small fraction of the stock's price, options act as an automatic stop order. Option buyers restrict the maximum loss to a small, fixed amount.
Hedging - Options are the only pure form of hedging. Because of this, options allow investors ways to protect positions that cannot be done with any other asset.
Profit on Neutral Outlooks - Investors can profit from bullish, bearish, or even neutral price forecasts.
